What is blue light?
Sunlight contains red, orange, yellow, green and blue light rays and many shades of each of these colors, depending on the energy and wavelength of the individual rays (also called electromagnetic radiation). Combined, this spectrum of colored light rays creates what we call "white light" or sunlight.
Generally, scientists say the visible light spectrum comprises electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from 380 nanometers (nm) on the blue end of the spectrum to about 700 nm on the red end. (By the way, a nanometer is one billionth of a meter - that's 0.000000001 meter!)
Blue light generally is defined as visible light ranging from 380 to 500 nm. Blue light sometimes is further broken down into blue-violet light (roughly 380 to 450 nm) and blue-turquoise light (roughly 450 to 500 nm).
So approximately one-third of all visible light is considered high-energy visible (HEV) or "blue" light.
Blue Cut Lenses
Blue-cut lenses are designed to absorb anywhere from 10% to over 90% of blue light. Blue light is visible light with high energy in the range of 380 nanometers to 495 nanometers. This type of lens is designed to allow some blue light to pass through to prevent color distortion. The amount of color distortion may increase with lenses that are designed to block more than 50% or 60% of blue light from passing through to your eyes.
Anti-blue light glasses can immediately reduce symptoms of digital eye strain, especially when working at night. Over time, wearing blue blockers while working on digital devices may help to normalize your circadian rhythm and risk of macular degeneration.
Our Blue Cut Lenses' Advantages
Our blue cut lenses can effectively prevent blue light radiation. And the lenses are of good quality and are not easily broken.Choose lenses with an anti-reflective coating if you want to see more clearly and reduce eye strain. If blocking more of the blue light that emanates from backlit digital devices is your top priority, anti-blue light glasses are the best choice.
What is an Aspheric Lens?
Traditional lenses have a bulgy, curved shape. Imagine the spherical surface of a ball. An aspheric lens is designed with less curvature than its traditional counterpart. Think: flatter and thinner. In both farsighted and nearsighted prescriptions, aspheric lenses provide a slimmer profile and minimize eye distortion without compromising optical quality.
An aspheric lens or asphere (often labeled ASPH on eye pieces) is a lens whose surface profiles are not portions of a sphere or cylinder.
The asphere's more complex surface profile can reduce or eliminate spherical aberration and also reduce other optical aberrations such as astigmatism, compared to a simple lens. A single aspheric lens can often replace a much more complex multi-lens system.
Aspheric eyeglass lenses allow for crisper vision than standard "best form" lenses, mostly when looking in other directions than the lens optical center. They may give a thinner lens, and also distort the viewer's eyes less as seen by other people, producing better aesthetic appearance
About Coating:
